Actor and thirst-trap Colton Haynes will star in a new queer comedy, I Run Hot, which is currently under development at AMC.

The series will come from Broad City co-creator Ilana Glazer, and sees Haynes as “a famous #instagay who can’t help but exemplify it”. As a famous gay with 6.4 million followers, we imagine that Haynes will have to conduct extensive character research for the role.

Meanwhile, Glazer’s brother Eliot will play the opposite (aka every other gay): “a gay curmudgeon who never quite fit in with the community”.

“We’re looking for highly original visions and voices as we think about how AMC Networks evolves.

“The projects in development both on the Entertainment Group side and at AMC Studios all embrace people with singular and surprising points of view.

“We will prioritise creative risk-taking that doesn’t rely on the shock and awe of sheer size, but instead delivers the surprise and delight of brilliant storytelling in our quest to stand out with human-scaled brands in this dynamic and changing content environment.

“There is so much phenomenal talent to discover and so many new, different, electric stories to be told.”

I Run Hot will Colton’s first TV role since Arrow and since his divorce from Jeffrey Leatham which contributed to the star’s substance abuse and sacking from other TV comedy project.

It’ll be interesting to see how influencer culture is portrayed on TV, and Haynes in a comedy role.
