Rocketman has barely hit the cinemas and director Dexter Fletcher is already talking about his next take on a musical legend.
Fletcher, who also worked on Bohemian Rapsody, about the life of Freddie Mercury, wants to focus on the Queen of Pop: Madonna. So yeah, if you thought that Elton John shit was camp, girl you are not ready, and neither are we.
When asked if he would return to the rock genre, or cover the lives of “Cher or Madonna”, Fletcher told the Gay Star News:
“I’d do Madonna! That sounds like a real rollercoaster ride! It would be extraordinary.” Although Fletcher admitted that the idea hadn’t occurred to him before: “No it hasn’t. I don’t know how happy she’d be about that [idea]… But what an extraordinary life that would be.
“If I was to tackle any other icon like that, it would be her. She’s extraordinary.”
OK, so sounds like you better get to WERK Mr.Fletcher. Although we expect he’d had to work very closely with Madge, who’s previously reported to have said: “Only I can tell my story. Anyone else who tries is a charlatan and a fool.”
