Black Mirror returns to Netflix this December, and it will be closer to home than ever.

The series, which revolves around the dangers and risks of advancing technology, will use advanced technology to allow viewers to interact with its storyline. In the first of its kind, Black Mirror will propose diverging storylines for one of its season 5 episodes, in which viewers will ‘create their own adventure’.

This is just the beginning as the show’s terrifying theme suggests. Choosing different endings on TV is an advancement from books (remember when Goosebumps used to do it?), and a step before alternate realities. So we imagine that real-life video games where we are living detailed second lives in cyberspace aren’t that far away.
