A Republican (quelle surprise!) of Colorado state has suggested that queer people should not be allowed to legally come out before 21, despite letting her preteen kids hold guns.

Mastermind Lauren Boebert has used her platform on Twitter to suggest that making such a “life-altering decision” can only be undertaken by those over 21, like drinking alcohol and smoking tobacco. Even though Lauren herself, was pregnant at 18, meaning she was likely having sex under the legal age of consent.

It’s also the Republicans that arrive with the hypocrisy.

To answer her question, “Why is it so unreasonable to require people to reach a certain level of maturity before making life-altering decisions about their sexuality and identity?”

Because it’s not a decision. We don’t “decide” to be gay, or trans, or non-binary.

Also, let’s just throw it out there, that most people are already scared to come out of the closet, and according to Bespoke Surgical, the average age for someone to come out is already 20.6 years-old.

The fact she wants to enforce law around the subject is just another ploy to keep queer people in the closet, appeasing their heterosexual agenda. So what? You can put us in jail cells for trying to live authentically? Meanwhile, you’re giving birth to the children of sex offenders at 18 and then handing them guns at 10 years old?

Oh yeah, her now-husband was convicted of exposing himself at a bowling alley.

Also our decisions are only ‘life-altering’ to us; as a non-queer person, that’s none of your business. Unlike, having a child or a gun.
