Most people celebrated last night as Piers Morgan was relieved of his duties as a bully on Good Morning Britain.

The presenter and frequently outspoken host was dragged under by the tidal wave that was Oprah’s interview with Meghan and Harry. The CBS interview which aired on ITV on Monday night raised a number of questions and opinions from the public.

One being the media’s racist treatment of Meghan Markle – especially in comparison to Kate Middleton.

Piers Morgan, who has been a frontrunner at scorning Markle since the start, quickly began trending on social media. Morgan tweeted that he “didn’t believe a word” of Markle’s omission about feeling suicidal. Although we can’t help feel he’d made up his mind before the interview aired.

Soon after 41,000 had complained to Ofcom (the second highest amount ever since the Shilpa Shetty/Jade Goody Big Brother row).

While it’s reported that Morgan ‘resigned’ from his position, it’s clear that the network were feeling the pressure. A pressure that would have only increased. ]

They said: “Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain. ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add.”

If that’s not a push out the door, we don’t know what is.

And since his departure, Good Morning Britain has beat BBC in ratings for the first time ever.

And I think I speak for everyone (who understands empathy and has half a brain) when I say: good riddance you swollen sack of shit.
