Whew, we’re penning this quickly before we pop out again for more Kleenex, because that was one emotional, educational and truly brilliant ride.

Russell T Davies – the mind behind the cult classic Queer As Folk – brought his highly-anticipated It’s A Sin to Channel 4, and 4OD last night it truly surpassed expectations.

The series, which follows a group of diverse teens facing the AIDS epidemic of the 80s, has been met with rave reviews on social media.

The show could easily be described as one of the most relevant queer shows to ever hit TV; providing a thorough and emotional education of the impact of the disease, and how horrific circumstances were when it hit an already homophobic Britain.

Viewers praised the show for doing what our educational system has failed to do, a talented queer cast telling queer stories and the wit and execution of Davies.
