Earlier this month, Billy Crystal let the world know just how opposed he was to watching gay sex on TV. Speaking of graphic sex scenes featuring homosexuals, he said “Sometimes, it’s just pushing it a little too far for my taste and I’m not going to reveal to you which ones they are […] I hope people don’t abuse it and shove it in our face… to the point where it feels like an every day kind of thing.”
YAWN. What an old man.
Anyway, Michael Urie, who played camp-as-Christmas Marc in Ugly Betty, has spoken up, quite obviously with these comments in mind, saying to NewNowNext “I don’t think it’s overexposed, If gay sex on TV is too much for you, change the channel and don’t watch it, it’s not for you. I think there is far too much football on TV. But I’m not going around saying they should take football off the air; I’m changing the channel.”
There’s always going to be stuff you don’t like, on TV and in the world. Not sure why Billy Crystal thinks he has the right to change the scheduling of TV. Although if he does, could you please bump Songs Of Praise for re-runs of Buffy The Vampire Slayer? Thank you, please.
