What with recent events, Christina Aguilera’s new single Change is not only beautifully sung, it’s also extremely timely. It’s been a while since we’ve heard those powerful pipes, but thankfully she’s returning – and by the sounds of things, she’s going back to her roots.

Aguilera touches on sexuality and race in her belter ballad that calls for a change to come; “where hate will be lost, and love will be found”.

“Who you love or the colour of your skin” shouldn’t decide how you should be treated is one of the poignant lyrics.

Aguilera has also backed Hilary Clinton in her upcoming bid for the presidential election.
